When we find ourselves consumed by jealousy, competition, anger, or similar emotions in relation to others, we must first acknowledge how severely this drains our energy.
This recognition allows us to retain some of that energy, which we can then redirect toward understanding the source of these feelings.
This shift turns our attention in the right direction — inward, toward self-inquiry.
What we come to realize is that others are not the source of these feelings, but that these feelings are merely superficial expressions of our own lack of self-esteem, discontent, and disappointment.
This process of self-inquiry itself brings relief, conserves energy, and gradually dissolves the negativity.
